Despite its first place, YouTube has fallen slightly compared to 2020 when 79% of those who went there. Generation Z remained tied to Instagram in 2021 with a usage rate of 67%, up from 2020 (62%). The study explains the dominance of YouTube among Generation Z in the United States by its usefulness. The age of social networks like YouTube and Instagram and their impact on brands can also explain their position in this ranking. Despite everything, the growth of TikTok remains much higher and even offers the Chinese giant the luxury of passing Snapchat.

This strong growth also applies to Generation Y. However, if TikTok shows significant progress, the Chinese social network comes only in seventh place in the ranking for millennials, with 42% in 2021 compared to 30% in 2020. Facebook remains oddly first on the charts. Millennials are 75% in 2021 versus 76% in 2020 to use Mark Zuckerberg’s platform.
