Paris, October 21, 2021 – Shopify, a trading company whose technology enables the launch, management and development of its activities, today announces the launch of its “P-Ecommerce *” campaign in partnership with My Little Paris. By supporting retailers and independent entrepreneurs, the campaign aims to show that the future of trade is taking place among these players in the local economy, who combine innovation and proximity through their omnichannel strategy.

8 nugget retailers selected by Shopify and My Little Paris
With its “P-Ecommerce Month”, in partnership with My Little Paris, Shopify highlights the local knowledge of resilient and innovative French entrepreneurs, through a sharp selection of retailers in Paris. Thus, 8 retailers are partners in this operation: On The Other Fish, a family store concept, Yoze, which turns unused places into micro Yoga studios,, a specialist in refillable hygiene and beauty products, La Green Touch, a specialty store in terrariums and interior design, ethical and responsible second-hand shop Raymonde, elegant leather goods designer Léo et Violette, Perles Corner, jewelry store and creative workshop specializing in pearls and finally Confiture Parisienne, the only jam shop located in Paris.
These independent actions, from all sectors, are presented on a new map, created by My Little Paris, which makes it possible to find their addresses and invites the general public to (rediscover) and support them, both personally and personally. .

On the physical and online, local retailers and entrepreneurs are adapting
Everything based on omnichannel, by combining a physical point of sale and e-commerce, these companies meet the needs of their customers wherever they are and offer business strategies that allow them to continue selling, regardless of the circumstances. This agility also allowed them to maintain their activity during captivity:
“We started our activity in September 2019: in 5 months we opened 10 studios in Paris, and 4 new rooms were supposed to be opened in April 2020. Like many others, we were stopped by the crisis. But thanks to our website and the technology developed by Shopify, we were able to be extremely fast: we were one of the first players to set up online yoga classes, run by professionals. In a few days, we had about fifty sessions a week, and about 20,000 people were able to participate in our courses. Today, we are thrilled to be able to find the public, and we continue to provide online sessions, ”explains Mathieu Cressy, founder of Yoze.

Tomorrow’s trade will be local or not
This collaboration marks Shopify’s support for small, independent retailers at a time of year when customers typically prepare for one of the biggest e-commerce outlets, Black Friday Cyber Monday.
With this campaign, Shopify also wants to reaffirm its support for entrepreneurs and help small retailers survive the unprecedented health and economic crisis.
“At Shopify, our goal is to make shopping better for everyone. Our solution aims to help large companies, as well as small traders and freelancers, and to revive their visions by giving them the right tools and resources. Our collaboration with My Little Paris fits in perfectly with Shopify’s mission to support local entrepreneurship in preparing for the future of commerce, ”comments Emilie Benoit-Vernay, Shopify’s state manager in France.
A vision shared by the French: according to the latest FEVAD report, 68% of online shoppers want local stores to offer online ordering, showing a real desire to consume more locally.

* P for proximity, proximity
