In this sense, Morocco has developed a plan for the reform of the education system for the years 2022-2026, which is based on broad national consultations and in accordance with a participatory methodology supporting the contribution of all parties involved in the transformation of the education system. teachers, students and their families, he explained.
In this regard, the Prime Minister specified that this plan revolves around three main axes, the aim of which is to enable the student to acquire basic skills, to improve the performance of the teacher and his abilities to ensure the transformation of education and to raise the level of education. schools by creating modern and open educational institutions.
The plan also aims to achieve three goals by 2026: reduce the early school leaving rate by a third, increase by 70% the number of students who acquire basic skills by improving learning and knowledge, and double the number of students who benefit from semi-curricular and parallel activities , Mr. Akhannouch continued during this summit, which is taking place alongside the 77th United Nations General Assembly.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that in order to meet this challenge and achieve the set goals, the government wants to involve all stakeholders in the application of the principles of good governance and at the same time make efforts to mobilize the necessary financing and explore innovative approaches to support reform and ensure sustainable financing.
It is also about concluding partnerships at the bilateral and multilateral level with international partners, he said.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that in realizing the royal vision regarding South-South cooperation, Morocco spares no effort to implement promising cooperation projects in the field of education and training with partner countries and launches concrete initiatives such as the King Mohammed VI initiative. to create an “African Institute for Lifelong Learning”.
Akhannouch reiterated Morocco’s call for urgent measures to achieve the expected education transformation and education financing initiative, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to support global partnership to achieve the goals. sustainable development by 2030, especially in the high-level commission on SDG-4 on education.
