“Strengthening economic and financial literacy must be a priority for Québec, especially among young people. Data about CIRANO 2022 barometer show that those who cannot assess the level of household debt risk are almost 7 times more likely to be concerned about economic and financial risks. This result, as well as other perceptions of the Barometer in relation to economic issues, indicate the need to improve the level of economic literacy of Quebecers, therefore the FinÉcoLab games and the Bourstad financial education program are ideal tools to meet this need. These initiatives are directly related to CIRANO’s mission, which is to transfer knowledge from the world of theory into practice. »
