The decision was made. Three weeks after learning of his suspension at Joliot-Curie High School, incl Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) for unclear reasons, Kai Terada was convened on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Academy of Versailles. She issued an order stating that the math teacher is ” transferred in the interest of the servicefrom September 26, 2022 at the high school Jean-Baptiste Poquelina in Saint-Germain-en-Laye “in Yvelines.

“Allow the device to return to quiet operation”

This decree states that “Joliot-Curie High School is experiencing a worrying situation in terms of the working climate in the educational community, as well as the proper functioning and continuity of the public service of education. (…) The deterioration of working relations within the teaching team is supported by the attitudes of the minority (…), which in a cruel and repeated way question especially the instructions, as well as the framework defined by the “institution”.

Several teachers would tell the administration “suffering at work and even dreading coming to work.” That’s why Academic Services has made “several transfers in the interest of service,” including the transfer of Kai Terada.

The name of Mr. Kai Terada regularly appears as an active participant outside the institutions’ social dialogue bodies, as well as the normal performance of trade union activities, in the deterioration of the climate in the educational community.

Decree of the Academy of Versailles

The Academy insists that his “behavior and his remarks (…) do not constitute an error that could justify the initiation of disciplinary proceedings.” Nevertheless, “his transfer in the interest of the service appears to be necessary to allow a return to the smooth running of the business”.

Nationwide strike notices filed

The decision did not go down well with the teaching union, which has condemned the “illegal” transfer and remains convinced that it is “union repression”.
